On Sunday March 9, 2008 7,249 people paid to play in the Poker Stars Sunday Million. That’s about 800 less than the amount that played in the same event just seven days before. In fact, this is the lowest attendance the Sunday Million has put up since Super Bowl Sunday. Despite that, the tourney featured a prize pool of $1,469,800.
Several big names were sitting in on the action once the final table got underway including psyduck101 (Vivek Rajkumar) and Brian “tsarrast” Rast. Rajkumar, who won a preliminary event at the 2008 LA Poker Classic in February, finished this event in 6th place. tsarrast, who’s earned nearly $400,000 in online tourneys in his career, made it all the way to three-handed play, adding $73,490 to his wallet.
Kometen1 and tpir90036 were left to fight it out for the title. The duo agreed to an even split at $140,799 with the final $30,000 and the championship going to the last one standing. In the end, tpir90036 claimed the extra goodies.
