Jeff Madsen took to the felt on Friday evening as host of the FTOPS VIII's fifth event, a $216 buy-in Stud/8 tournament. A total of 645 players were in on the action at the start of the tourney, driving up the prize pool to a respectable $129,000, nearly $30k more than the actual guarantee.
Berry Johnston, the WSOP Main Event winner from 1986, made the final table. As the top Full Tilt finisher, he earned some major bragging rights. Berry has five WSOP bracelets and cashed in more World Series of Poker Main Events than any other player. A Hall of Famer - Berry was inducted in 2004 - Johnston showed his prowess in this event being the first Full Tilter to make it so far thus far in this installment of the FTOPS.
Berry's fourth place finish was good for more than $8300. However, the night and the title belonged to voguepergola. vogupergola defeated dman13 in heads-up play.
