Antonio “The Magician” Esfandiari is no stranger to World Poker Tour success. Having earned more than $1.5 million on the WPT circuit, Esfandiari has joined the WPT as the face of the WPT Poker-Made Millionaire. He will provide poker tips, tools and tricks for both fans and players. Esfandiari, who appears with pal Phil Laak on “I Bet You”, a prop bet series on MOJO HD, will also deliver live updates and info at WPT stops using video and internet materials provided by the World Poker Tour. He will also play under the WPT banner at tournaments. His first official event will be at the WPT tournament at the Casino Barcelona in May.
Esfandiari, who took down the title at the LA Poker Classic in 2004, got his start with the WPT when he was hired by WPTE founder, president & CEO, Steve Lipscomb, to perform magic at the press release party for the tournament series in 2002. The Magician is happy to represent the WPT. As he said, “all I ever wanted was to play in a WPT event, let alone win one. To have actually won a few years later and to now become the official spokesperson for a company that did so much for poker and me personally is an honor I hold very dear to me.”
Lipscomb has equally high praise for Esfandiari stating that “Antonio embodies the excitement that has become the WPT journey.”
