The second episode of GSN’s High Stakes Poker, season 5, aired this past Sunday. Tom “durrrr” Dwan got everyone talking with a hand he played. A family pot – meaning multiple players (the majority of the table) were in the pot – ensued with Barry Greenstein, durrrr, David Benyamine, Eli Elezra, Ilari Sahamies, Daniel Negreanu, Peter Eastgate and Doyle Brunson putting their chips in the middle.
Greenstein raises to $2.5k. Dwan calls and the rest of the table including Eastgate (SB) and Brunson (BB) follow. The eight-way flop yields 2

. Eastgate and Brunson check. Greenstein bets out $10,000 into the $21.6k pot and Dwan re-raises to $37,300. Everyone folds to Eastgate, the 2008 WSOP Main Event champion. He calls.
The turn is a 7
. Both Eastgate and Greenstein check. Durrr, ever the aggressor, raises to $104,200. Both of his opponents go into the tank to think for a bit. Eastgate folds first; then, Greenstein follows suit.
FYI - Eastgate had the best hand with 4,2. Greenstein had his aces cracked and durrr had the worst two pair with a Q,10 in the hole. This show of aggression made Eastgate think he was out-kicked – at the least and Greenstein realizes that perhaps he should have re-raised Dwan to isolate him pre-flop.
Regardless, it’s much easier to analyze a poker hand…after the fact and once you know what everyone else is holding…isn’t it?
