Gus Hansen Soundly Defeats Ziigmund Online

Deanna Goodson - 30 Mar 2009

Gus Hansen and Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies clashed like the online titans they were last Thursday. This time, the Finn was on the losing end in a big way.

Gus Hansen loves his high stakes online poker. The Great Dane had a great session on Thursday, March 26, 2009. He won five of the six biggest pots in his heads-up session with Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies. As a result, he managed to claim about $450,000 in profit.

The carnage took place at the Hansen Knockout table, a $500/$1,000 heads-up table. Recently, Hansen has been on the losing end of a majority of the pots he’s played there, bleeding out $100,000 here, there and just about everywhere.

However, against Ziigmund, Hansen was the big winner, reclaiming $450,000 he’d lost and taking down the biggest pot the duo played for more than $150,000.

Summary: Hansen is on the comeback trail after devastating Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies online for nearly half a million dollars.
