On May 3, 2008 World Series of Poker bracelet holders Robert Williamson III and Phil Hellmuth, Jr. will host a very special event. These two poker icons will go All-in for Climate Change with a poker tournament at Caesar’s Indiana. 50% of the proceeds from the $2,500 buy-in tournament will go to benefit the international Red Cross/Red Crescent Climate Centre, the Health and Climate Foundation and the Robby Albarado Foundation.
The event is called the Kentucky Derby Poker Championship since it takes place on the Saturday the world-famous horse race is run. The festivities begin at 7pm with the tournament starting at 8:30 pm. Players get to rebuy ‘til the first break. At that time, an add-on will also be offered to interested players.
About the event, Hellmuth said, “I'm really excited to be co-hosting this event with Robert Williamson III and to be supporting such an important cause. The climate is changing and the poor will be the hardest hit. Anything we can do to raise awareness of this issue and help save lives is important.”
