While some may be wishing the tradition was ten paces with six shooters at High Noon, it turns out that in the state of Nevada a tie in a voting competition between Barak Obama and Hilary Clinton was settled recently by drawing for the high card. Now THAT’s Vegas, baby!
Two caucus votes (nope, we don’t know what those are either) were tied, forcing a stalemate between two of the however-many-there-are Democratic runners for their party nomination, and the showdown was to be dealt with pasteboard justice. A pack of cards was brought out (that rather smarmily bore the “Hillary” logo on them), shuffled, and a representative for each group drew a card.
Clinton’s party got a five and Obama’s band got a king – so he won, right? No. Well, yes. He did win the card-draw (kings beat fives even in the US) but Mrs. Clinton won the popular vote.
