High Stakes Poker Premieres March 1st

Deanna Goodson - 1 Mar 2009

High Stakes Poker is in its fifth season already. Hard to believe but we’ve been watching the cash game exploits of Daniel Negreanu, Doyle Brunson, Phil Hellmuth and a host of other players since it began on GSN (the Game Show Network). On Sunday, March 1, 2009 season five will kick off at 9pm ET.

Each player has to put up at least $200,000 of his or her own cash to play. That’s the highest minimum ever required to play. Players can pretty much set their own limits. As producer Mori Eskandani says, “If you let the players decide what they’re comfortable with, you’ll have a better game.”

Hosts Gabe Kaplan and AJ Benza return to give colorful commentary and players like Howard Lederer, Tom “durrr” Dwan and Peter Eastgate are set to join the action. In addition, Joseph Hachem, David Benyamine and Dario Minieri will be sitting at the table for at least part of the season.

Looking forward to all the fresh action! Very curious how the young Eastgate will play in this 'real'game. Grtz!
