Phan is the Best, No Bluff

Deanna Goodson - 6 Jan 2009

2008 was more than a breakthrough year for John Phan. It was a year that all aspiring and most poker pros dream about. The talented rounder earned two World Series of Poker bracelets, a World Poker Tour Legends of Poker title and the coveted CardPlayer Player of the Year nod. Now, he’s also got Bluff Magazine’s endorsement as the 2008 Player of the Year.

Seems unanimous, doesn’t it? We certainly aren’t going to argue.

With this award, Phan joins the ranks of Chad Brown, Bill Edler and Phil Ivey, each of whom have been a Bluff Player of the Year. He defeated the likes of David Pham and Michael Binger to earn the honor.
