John Phan beat out Michael Binger to take down the 2008 Card Player Player of the Year title. Phan, who won two World Series of Poker bracelets this summer, was runner-up for the honor in 2005. That year he lost to Men “The Master” Nguyen.
Phan had a stellar year and is very deserving of the title. In addition to his two WSOP bracelets, Phan won his first World Poker Tour championship at the Legends of Poker.
He made two more final tables and had a total of 14 cashes for the year.
