Ivey Rocks Full Tilt for $1,100,000

Deanna Goodson - 26 Feb 2009

Phil Ivey is one of if not the premier high stakes poker players in the world today. He earns multiple millions online and off each and every year…just playing cash games. On Wednesday February 25, 2009, Ivey proved that he’s got the goods by taking on online players Ziigmund, durrrr and LarsLuzak to the tune of seven figures.

Yes, seven figures, y’all.

He started out with a stack of $81,000 at a $500/$1,000 Pot Limit HA (Hold’em, Omaha Hi) table at his online home Full Tilt Poker.  He quickly built that up to $176,000. After hitting a back-door flush, he re-emerged with more than $400,000 in cash.

That might be enough for some players, but not the insatiable Ivey. Oh no! He took Tom Dwan, who he’s set to face in the durrrr challenge soon, for an additional $328,000.

All tolled, the Tiger Woods of Poker pulled in $1.1 million plus.

Not bad for one day’s worth of work, eh?
