Stars Gets Tough with Multi-Accounters

James Cameron - 23 Aug 2007

Multi-accounting, the practice of playing on more than one username or having multiple players use a single username at an online poker site, has taken a big hit recently. Neverwin, a moniker owned by Dustin Woolf, and reportedly used by at least two other folks (possibly three), has been banned from PokerStars permanently. Each player, who allowed Neverwin access to their account, has had his or her account frozen as well.

We applaud Poker Stars’ decision to crack down on multi-accounting. However, we only hope that they will take care of this across the board and not just use Neverwin, as some have suggested, as a scapegoat to settle a score that another player had with Woolf.

Regardless, we’d like to see the playing field leveled online. Our motto is – One account for one person. If you’re a good enough player, you shouldn’t need to ‘hide’ your identity no matter what.
