First of all, everyone needs a website with a cartoon sketch of themselves. Seriously, what better way for your fans (read: family and friends for those non-poker superheros out there) to keep up with your life and schedule? Well, Rafael Furst has one, and it is located at the creatively named http://www.rafefurst.com/
Second of all, congratulations to one of the newest World Series of Poker bracelet holders! Showing that limit hold'em CAN be profitable in tournaments, Rafe took out a big field of fellow hungry poker players in order to claim the number one spot at event three in the 2006 World Series of Poker, the $1500 pot limit hold'em event. Okay, so technically it's pot limit, but still.
Making the trek from Marina Del Rey, CA, to Las Vegas, NV, Rafe schooled the tables at this early event, winding up in a heads up match with a high-stakes cash game player by the name of Rocky Enciso. Rafe and Rocky? Sounds like a new buddy cop movie. The head that match lasted exactly 1 hand, when Rafe made an excellent read on his opponent and called all in for the win.
Rafe has a lot of great insider insight into the poker world on his blog- to quote: "Poker is a great game; it´s tons of fun, and it has never been as potentially profitable as it is today. But try to keep it in perspective."
