Gus Hansen is a fearless poker player who’s risen to every challenge that’s been thrown his way. However, we wonder if this time the handsome Danish poker player has bitten off more than he can chew. This week, he’ll be facing a table full of the fiercest and most beautiful poker vixens on the circuit. On “Poker After Dark”, NBC’s hit late night poker offering, The Great Dane will take on the dames in a week-long series entitled “Gus & The Ladies.”
Starting at Tuesday at 2.05 am EST sharp, The four-time WPT champ, who was named one of People magazine’s 50 Sexiest Men in 2004, will sit across the felt from J.J. Liu, Vanessa Rousso, Beth Shak, Clonie Gowen and Erica Schoenberg.
- Liu finished second at the 2007 WPT Bay 101 Event while heavily pregnant. Born in Taiwan, she’s a fierce competitor who has earned more than $1.5 million in tournaments worldwide.
- Rousso is a graduate of Duke University who speaks several languages fluently. She also took the second position at the 2007 World Championships of Online Poker Main Event.
- Erica Schoenberg is a former model and blackjack superstar who is currently engaged to fellow Full Tilt pro, David Benyamine.
- Beth Shak finished second at the 2007 WSOP $5,000 buy-in Mixed Hold’em Tournament, knocking Phil Hellmuth out en route to that runner-up position.
- Last but not least is Clonie Gowen. The former Miss Teen USA Oklahoma was the winner of the inaugural WPT Ladies Night Event. The photogenic lady also posed for Maxim magazine in 2007.
