Profiling Peter Eastgate

Deanna Goodson - 7 Nov 2008

The youngest player at the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event final table, Peter Eastgate was born in 1986. The 22 year old from Odense, Denmark could become, along with Craig Marquis (aged 23), the youngest man to take the WSOP title, besting the record set by the Madison Kid, Phil Hellmuth, back in 1989 … when Eastgate was still a toddler.

Eastgate, who earned his way to the tournament with Ladbrokes Poker, now plays under the PokerStars banner and finished in the money at the 2008 European Poker Tour (EPT) event in Copenhagen, Denmark. In addition, the talented rounder made the final table of the 2007 Irish Poker Open.

An avid sports fan, the young man especially enjoys soccer when he’s not on the felt and began playing poker online soon after graduating high school. He made his mark virtually, grinding it out at the low-limit cash tables and looks forward to investing the $9 million should he be fortunate enough to win the Main Event.

Currently fourth in chips, Eastgate hopes his uber-aggressive style will propel him past the chip leaders and allow him to defeat the shorter stacks at the final table.

Ladbrokes Poker is holding the Main Event of its European Championships of Poker (LEOCOP IV) on Sunday, November 9th, 2008. Qualify now by visiting Ladbrokes!
