Patrik Antonius takes a six-figure lead over Tom "durrrr" Dwan as the durrrr Challenge trudges along.
Patrik Antonius has pulled ahead of Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan in the Durrrr Challenge. On Monday morning (April 27, 2009), the duo played for four hours and 842 hands. At the end, the Finnish poker pro had extended his lead by $159,727.
The two hadn’t played in about two weeks, but there were several tussles of note, one culminating in a $200,000 pot.
Pre-flop, Antonius opened with $1,200. The two players went up four times before Dwan called Antonius, creating a pot of $108,000. The flop was 7h,8s,9s. Dwan bet his final remaining $45,000, revealing a Qd,Ts,9d,8c for two pair and a straight draw with Antonius showing his Ad,As,Kh,Kc. The turn was a 5s and the river was a 9c, which gave Dwan a full house and the third largest pot of the challenge so far.
Despite winning the $198,961 pot, Dwan couldn’t overcome Antonius’ lead.
So far, they’ve played 12,956 hands.
