Online poker room Poker Stars continued to add to its already impressive array of online poker games with Badugi, a version of Lowball.
What is Badugi, you ask? Similar to a number of poker games, seeming to borrow from a few, Badugi is a limit poker game that has two blinds (just like your favorite poker game, Texas Hold’em). The big difference is each player gets four cards (like Omaha!) that are kept secret.
Now the game really takes a left turn and operates like a draw game, with players choosing from no cards to four cards to try and improve their hand over the course of three draws. The lowest hand wins. The best had in the game is A-2-3-4 rainbow.
On Poker Stars the game is fixed limit, eight players to a game. Stakes run up from $0.25/$0.50 to $2/$4 – and there are even play money tables for those just learning the game (highly recommended!)
