WSOP changes bracelet ceremonies for 2009.

Harrah’s has announced that it will implement a new tradition for WSOP bracelet winners this year. Players who take down a World Series of Poker bracelet event will receive a special invitation to the Amazon Room at the Rio at exactly 2.20 pm the day following their win. They will receive a special Corum gold bracelet in an official ceremony presided over by none other than WSOP commissioner Jeffrey Pollack.

A Bracelet Ceremony Stage (BCS) is being set up at the Amazon Ballroom to accommodate the ‘television-taping quadrant.’

Considering two bracelets are scheduled to be awarded on May 31, the first ceremony will be on the roster for Monday, June 1st, 2009. They will continue daily until the end of the first day of the Main Event on July 3rd, 2009.  The only exception is that players who win Events 54 & 55 on July 1st will return on July 3rd instead of the 2nd as there are no noon tournaments that day.

The ceremony is timed at precisely 2.20pm to accommodate players coming back from the first break of the noon tournament. This means the Amazon Room will be full of players to congratulate the bracelet winners while they receive their Corum jewelry. The player’s national anthem will then be played and the bracelet holder(s) will pose for photos.
