Phillips Holds Warm-Up Event at Hard Rock Casino on Nov 7th

Deanna Goodson - 30 Oct 2008

Dennis Phillips is the current chip leader of the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event. He will retain that lead at least until the first hand is dealt on November 9th. Two days prior to that Phillips will take center stage at the Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas.

Phillips will take part in the $10,000 Dennis Phillips Chip Leader Challenge. This shootout tournament is capped at 20 players. Each table winner takes home $50,000 and the final two will play heads-up for $150,000. As Phillips said, “This special tournament will be a good mix of some of the best poker players in the world and high-profile amateurs. It will give me a chance to brush up on my single-table strategy while still allowing me to have a good time.”

Roy Winston, David Benyamine, Erica Schoenberg and Hoyt Corkins have already confirmed that they will attend the event. Seats are still available. You can purchase them at the Hard Rock Casino’s poker room cage. The $10,000 buy-in includes not only the tournament entry but also admission to an exclusive after-party.
