The rumor mill has run rampant lately with news that Johnny Depp, the handsome actor who made the ridiculous Jack Sparrow sexy in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies, is quite the poker player. (Shhh! yes, we’ve heard conflicting reports saying that it was craps he was playing, but…we prefer the poker story, and well, that’s the one we want to report here.)
Oh and btw we’re having a lovely dream right now of playing poker with Johnny Depp and well, if there is no money involved that’s fine by us…too.

Of course, Vanessa Paradis, his longtime Parisian paramour would be a bit put off by that, we’re sure, but we girls can dream.
But back to the story at hand.
Depp and the cast, crew and apparently indie rock band We Are Scientists would play games such as craps and poker to while away the off-camera time during filming of the blockbluster flicks. Now, it seems Depp wants to collect on his debt. We Are Scientists still owes him something like $28,000 and Orlando Bloom (don’t get us started on Orlando…oh my!) is in for $800,000 or something. Recently, Depp saw We Are Scientists in London and asked them what was up with his cash?
We haven't heard him hitting Orlando up for the loot so we imagine he's made good on his debts. (Oh Orlando, you are such an upstanding kind of guy ... and you might even play poker too...this story gets better and better. Guess it's time for me to slag off now.)
Point is - Jack Sparrow is something of a poker shark. We can see it now...The Oceans' crew with Matt Damon, George Clooney, Don Cheadle and Brad Pitt playing poker with Ben Affleck, Orlando Bloom, Johnny Depp, Eric Bana from "Lucky You" and the new James Bond, Daniel Craig.
Now that's a poker-themed film we'd have to watch - after our hubbies went to bed, naturally!
