Million Dollar Challenge – Antonius v. Dwan is On

Deanna Goodson - 19 Feb 2009

Phil Ivey warmed Tom Dwan up for his good buddy Patrik Antonius. Ivey hit durrrr hard as the young poker player posted a loss of $680,000 for the session. One would think that Dwan would be down in the mouth by the time he started the official challenge with Patrik Antonius, the Finnish superstar.

Yesterday, the duo began their first session. They played 1,541 hands, just a fraction of the 50,000 needed to meet the challenge. (If someone defeats Dwan over the course of 50,000 high stakes hands, he’ll give them $1.5 million. If not, they owe him $500,000.)

As of this writing, Dwan is up over Antonius by $134,911.50.
