Gavin Griffin is the winner of Poker’s Trifecta. The 26 year old poker player has a WSOP bracelet, a WPT title and an EPT championship. In 2004, the former online specialist broke Allen Cunningham’s record of becoming the youngest WSOP bracelet holder (a record that has since been broken several times over). He took down the $3,000 Pot Limit Hold’em Event, winning more than $270,000.
In 2007, he won the European Poker Tour Grand Finale in Monte Carlo. Earlier this year, he was victorious at the WPT Borgata Winter Open Championship. Griffin, who often sports pink hair in support of Breast Cancer awareness, recently inked a deal with PokerRoyalty to help him take his career to the next level.
Chad Brown, a former actor turned poker player and TV presenter, took down the $5,200 HORSE event at the 2006 World Championships of Online Poker (WCOOP), held, of course, at PokerStars. He was a runner up at the 2007 NBC National Heads-Up Championship, losing only to the eventual champ, Paul Wasicka. Brown has also made a WPT final table (Bay 101 Shooting Stars – Season 4), cashed at the WSOP in multiple events and made back to back World Series of Poker Circuit final tables.
Both men are definite forces to be reckoned with in the game today. Each is a fantastically talented player in his own right and a true ‘poker star’. That’s why it comes as no surprise that PokerStars has signed both Gavin Griffin and Chad Brown to their online roster of pros.
Griffin will play under the name “GavinGriffin” and Brown will use “ChadBrownPro” at the online poker home of 25 of the world’s biggest names in the game including Joe Hachem, Chris Moneymaker, Greg Raymer, Daniel Negreanu and Brown’s galpal, Vanessa Rousso.
