Phil Hellmuth, with his 11 World Series of Poker bracelets, may be the best tournament player in history (and that’s not just his own assessment). However, many say that he can’t hold his own in the cash game circuit. Hellmuth himself will attempt to dissuade his distractors from this opinion over the next two weeks on NBC’s Poker After Dark.
The Poker Brat will play $200/$400 no-limit hold’em against five competitors with a minimum buy-in of $100,000. The two week series is referred to as “The Hellmuth Bash” and features Tom Dwan, Kenny Tran, Phil Laak, Antonio Esfandiari and amateur player Bob Safai.
This is the first time Poker After Dark will feature a cash game over two weeks. Players will also redraw their seats midway through the competition so players can adjust to those different positions.
New episodes of Poker After Dark debut at 2.05 am on NBC during the week and at 1.00 am after Saturday Night Live on the weekend.
