Hole Card Camera Inventor Honored

Brian Thomas - 31 Oct 2008

The fellow he invented the camera that revolutionized the poker industry will be tapped for the Poker Hall of Fame in November.

You would be hard pressed to find one guy who did more for poker then Henry Orenstein. Who? Exactly. He isn’t a big time poker pro, his face isn’t plastered across the title bar of online poker rooms, but he is, all the same, responsible for the poker boom, the very reason you are reading this article online about poker.

Orenstein made poker interesting for those who watched the game in addition to those who played the game -- he’s the guy who invented the little camera that looks at a poker player’s pocket cards, letting TV viewers see the holdings and play along with their favorite pros in games at the

World Series of Poker, the World Poker Tour, and many other, similar poker environs.

It is fitting, then, that he should be honored for his efforts, and next month he will be when he is enshrined in the Poker Hall of Fame.

The event will take place at the Final Table of the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event on November 9th.
