Ivey Loses $300,000 Pot to Dwan on Mother’s Day

Tom Dwan had a rough weekend, but managed to win some money off of none other than Phil Ivey.

Tom “Durrr” Dwan played a lot of poker on Sunday. He lost about $1.5 million to Gus Hansen and Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies. Still, that wasn’t enough for the insatiable high stakes player.

This time he took on Phil Ivey heads-up. Ivey started off strong, raking in several $100,000 plus pots. Then, there was a monster $300,000 pot that Ivey lost.

Dwan raised pre-flop with K,J,Q,Q and Ivey re-raised with a J,T,9,8. Dwan called. The flop came down Q,8,7. Ivey bet out. Dwan raised and Ivey shoved it all in for $157,000. Dwan made the call.

The queen of diamonds hit the turn, giving durrr unlikely quads, shipping the entire pot his way.

After that, Ivey begged off saying he had to visit with his mom, who was there for Mother’s Day.
