Ivey and Juanda Trade High Stakes Pot

Brian Thomas - 27 Oct 2008

Some of the most exciting poker in the world takes place online, like this recent hand where Phil Ivey lifted six figures off of fellow pro John Juanda.

Plaing at the ultra high stakes tables at Full Tilt Poker, Phil Ivey and a few fellow pros recently traded pots back and forth in a $500/$1000 No Limit Hold’em game.

The record for the largest ever online poker hand was broken when “durrr” took a $618k pot, but then saw his own record broken when he lost a $678k pot to John Juanda.

But the record would not stand for long.

A few hands later Phil Ivy, Juanda and Tom Dwan, the real name behind “durrr”, were in a hand. Dwan was all in and Ivey and Juanda were re- raising each other. Ivey had a middle set of Tens after the flop when all the money went into the middle, and they held up, shipping him the new record pot of $687k.
