Justin Smith, aka BoostedJ, is betting big on his WSOP debut.
Justin “BoostedJ” Smith is just 21 years old. This is his first year to play in the World Series of Poker. The confident rounder, who first made a name for himself online, is certain he’ll have a great series. He’s willing to back that statement up with cold, hard cash.
BoostedJ says he’ll bet up to $5,000 at even money with anyone that he finishes with more Player of the Year points than any non-bracelet winner of the bettor’s choosing. Since only players who cash in POY events earn points, he’s basically taking action from anyone who bets on someone without a WSOP bracelet yet (or this season.)
Smith jokingly said of the challenge, “I want the challenge and I also like money.” However, he does think he’s the “favorite” in no small part due to his experience playing mixed games online with the best players in the world.
This is not the only prop bet that Smith is offering to all comers. In fact, he’s also willing to bet that his team of three non-bracelet winners will win more bracelets during this Series than a team of any other three players who have yet to capture a bracelet. Joining him on his team are Justin Bonomo and Brett Richey.
What a bettor might have going in his/her favor is that, as a cash game specialist, Smith is willing to forego tournaments if the action is “way too good and insane.”
