Nick Rainey Sets New Sit & Go Record – Plays on to 16k

Deanna Goodson - 10 Apr 2009

Nick Rainey has set the new world record for most Sit & Gos played, but he's still not finished with his quest.

Sit & Go specialist Nick Rainey (read our interview with him here) has succeeded in breaking the SNG world record for the number of Sit & Gos played online in one month. On April 7th, Nick completed his 11,000th SNG in just 19 days. This surpasses the previous record of 10,351 played in one month.

His record is even more impressive because Rainey is limited to SNGs within the $6 - $75 buy-in range and had to play in tournaments with at least 9 players.

Rainey began the challenge on March 18, 2009. As of April 7th, he has earned $6,717 in profits and has played 11,000 sit & gos. The games that he has played the most of are the $7 super turbo (8,221 games), the $14 super turbo (913 games), and the $6 turbo (858 games). He’s currently grinding in sessions lasting 20 – 30 hours at a time.

After the 11th, Rainey won’t be able to play anymore turbo SNGs. However, he remains confident that he can achieve his goal.
