Deanna Goodson - 21 Sep 2008

“The Real Deal!” is a stage-show which puts poker in a game-show format. The series, which is set to hit The Venetian full-time beginning October 22, 2008, has announced that Paul Rodriguez has signed on to be the host. As Merv Adelson, the show’s co-executive producer said, that Rodriguez was a “natural choice” for the position because he’s “funny, charismatic and engaging.”

The show takes two professional poker players – who will rotate on a regular basis and will include famous faces such as Doyle Brunson, Shannon Elizabeth, Daniel Negreanu and more – against a group of randomly selected audience members. Combining humor and improve, the audience can play along with hand-held devices at their seats.

In the end, the point leader from the audience will take on the chip-leading pro and top amateur for a three-handed finale. The winner gets a shot at a sweet prize. In fact, throughout the evening prizes will be given away including an opportunity for one lucky person to get a crack at $1,000,000.

“The Real Deal!” will run six days a week at The Venetian Showroom in Las Vegas. Shows will be at 5pm with an 8pm show on Tuesdays and Wednesdays with matinees several days a week. Tickets start at $75.00 and VIP packages which include an opportunity to meet the pros after the show are available.
