Poker After Dark, NBC’s popular series, begins its fourth season on July 14th. The first three seasons of the show followed six players in freezeout tournaments. Most of these players were among the biggest names in the world such as Gus Hansen, Patrik Antonius, Jennifer Harman and Phil Hellmuth, among others.
This season, PAD will be mixing things up a tiny bit. In the debut episode of the fourth season, players will take part in a high-stakes game that features a lineup of diverse talent including:
- Tom “durr” Dwan – 21 year old online prodigy turned live game phenom
- Phil Hellmuth – 11-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner and icon
- Mike Baxter – part-time cash game player
- Allen Cunningham – 5-time WSOP bracelet winner
- Guy Laliberte – Cirque de Soleil CEO and fairly decent “celebrity” rounder
- David “Viffer” Peat – cash game vet
The blinds will be $200/$400. There will be plenty of straddles and prop bets allowed. The minimum buy-in allowed is $100,000. The max is $250,000 and a rebuy is set at $50,000.
Making her debut as hostess of Poker After Dark is Leeann Tweeden. Tweeden has hosted NBC’s National Heads-Up Championship so she’s no stranger to NBC fans. PAD airs at 2.05 AM ET beginning Mondays and continues for five consecutive nights. On Saturdays, there’s a director’s cut at 1.00 AM ET, immediately following Saturday Night Live.
Later on in the season, PAD will air another high stakes game featuring Patrik Antonius, Doyle Brunson, Gabe Kaplan, Eli Elezra and several others.
Watch Hellmuth get ticked off on Poker After Dark. It’s classic Poker Brat behavior:
Play high stakes poker at Ultimate Bet, Hellmuth's online home. They have games that go as high as $300/$600 (last time we checked). Visit them now for more information!
