Poker Show’s first three broadcasts get Hellmuth exclusive and censors foul-mouthed caller.
The Poker Show is the new online radio poker show presented by Padraig Parkinson and Matchroom sport’s Jesse May. Sponsored by BoylePoker, the series has generated some interest in only its first three broadcasts. First and foremost, Phil Hellmuth gave the series a world exclusive. Then, there was a caller who was cut off for drunkenly abusing the hosts. Finally, poker players and industry insiders are champing at the bit to talk to Parkinson and May.
Phil Hellmuth told the fellows on The Poker Show that he had agreed to attend ‘sensitivity training’ at the demand of WSOP commissioner Jeffrey Pollack before the start of this year’s World Series. He mentioned that Scotty Nguyen will also be there but that the three hours of training would probably NOT be enough.
Former EPT finalist Rory Liffey called the show and was cut off after a slew of curses. He called the show back to yell at the hosts and cut them off this time.
The show, which broadcasts on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday from 8 to 11pm, has already featured the likes of Marty Smyth, Dan Harrington, Liam Flood and many others.
Parkinson said of the series, “After a few technical hitches we really got into our stride quickly and I remembered just how much fun this could be. I have a feeling this is either all going to end in tears or we will have created a monster. Either way, I’m going to love it.”
