As the last woman standing at the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event, Tiffany Michelle made headlines this summer. The new spokesperson for Ultimate Bet and former interviewer for PokerNews, Michelle, who is also an aspiring actress, has made quite a splash in the poker world. Recently, she hit the Vegas Strip with some of her pals to take part in the fourth annual Road 2 Recovery Charity Poker Tournament. The event was held at the luxurious MGM in Las Vegas.
A total of 67 players entered the event including Layne Flack, Chip Jett, Jennifer Harman, Marco Traniello, Maria Ho, Todd Brunson and Brandon Cantu along with Road 2 Recovery founder Jimmy Button, who also served as host. The emcees were Jamie Gold, the 2006 WSOP Main Event winner, and Robert Williamson III. To enter the tournament, players plunked down $300. 160 re-buys and add-ons helped to inflate the total number of donations that went to the charity.
In the end, Michelle faced multiple WSOP bracelet winner Madsen heads-up. She won a “World” model sports watch donated by Curtis & Co., a 22 lb. crystal trophy, hotel accommodations at the MGM and a $10,000 seat to the World Series of Poker in 2009. She also pledged 5% of any winnings back to the Road 2 Recovery’s Injured Rider’s Fund.
