WPT Championship Day 2 – ElkY Makes Some Moves

Justin Young and Bertrand Grospellier take big chip stacks with them into Day 3.

During the first two day ones of play, the World Poker Tour Championship only saw 36 players go bust. On Day 2, more players hit the rails including Amnon Filippi and Gavin Smith. Both of these players were busted by one Justin Smith. Smith, a former final table player at the Five Diamond World Poker Classic, remains in the thick of things as one of the chip leaders at the end of Day 2.

Joining him is Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier. He won a hefty pot off Shawn Cunix and is in second place, behind Jean Noel Thorel.

Here are the top chip stacks as players get ready for Day 3 of the action:

4) Dan Heimiller -- 655,700
