WSOP Academy Offers Four Poker Camps During the World Series

The World Series of Poker Academy provides players with four ways to improve their game during the WSOP this summer.

The World Series of Poker Academy gives players an opportunity to learn new poker skills and improve their games. This summer, the WSOP Academy is providing players with four camps that are geared towards during just that. They’re offering a Cash Game Academy, Ladies Only Event, Tournament Academy and Main Event Primer.

Brandon Rosen of Post Oak productions, which produces the camps, told Tourneyblog, “Whether you're looking to improve your cash-game skills, become a better tournament player or take on the massive field in the Main Event, the WSOP Academy has an event designed for you this summer in Las Vegas. Our upcoming WSOP Academy events are the best hands players can deal themselves as they prepare to take on the world's best and hopefully walk away from Las Vegas with a bracelet.”

The Cash Game Academy kicks things off from May 30 – 31. Instructors include Mark Seif, Mark Gregorich and Alex Outhred. This Academy’s topics feature the transition from tournament to cash-game play, bankroll management and certain strategies that are specific to cash games.

On June 5 -6, Annie Duke, tells expert Joe Navarro and Alex Outhred will lead the ladies through the paces needed to win the WSOP Ladies No Limit Hold’em Championship. The three will return on June 13 – 14 to teach the Tournament Academy with the help of Bernard Lee.

Both academies cover multiple aspects of No Limit Hold’em tournament strategy such as playing position, the calculation of pot odds (and outs) and the important topics of aggression and changing gears. Joe Navarro will also provide a vital session on tells.

The final camp will take place on June 29 – July 1. The Main Event Primer features Phil Gordon, Annie Duke, Mark Seif, Greg Raymer, Phil Hellmuth, Joe Navarro and Alex Outhred as instructors.

The cost of the Academies is as follows:

• Cash Game Academy: $1,899
• Ladies Only Event: $1,699
• Tournament Academy: $1,899
• Main Event Primer: $2,499

Each Academy includes a private tournament for entrants. Winners from each event will go on to compete for a $10,000 Main Event seat at the WSOP Academy Tournament of Champions.
