June Field, Jan Fisher and Cyndy Violette will be inducted into the Women in Poker Hall of Fame this summer.

Last year, Linda Johnson, Marsha Waggoner, Susie Isaacs and Barbara Enright were inducted into the Women in Poker Hall of Fame. They were the first inductees to receive this prestigious honor. This year, June Field, Jan Fisher and Cyndy Violette will be inducted into the WiPHOF for their contributions as women in poker.

June Field founded both CardPlayer magazine and Card Player Cruises and Classic Poker Cruises as well as Poker Digest, which merged with Casino Player Magazine. Jan Fisher has been the World Poker Tour’s in-house statistician, a co-founder of the Tournament Director’s Association, a partner in Card Player Cruises and a columnist for Poker Player Magazine. She’s also a member of the board of directors for the Poker Players’ Alliance, the Ladies Poker Association and the LIPS Tour. Cyndy Violette is a Full Tilt sponsored pro. She’s won a WSOP bracelet (2004), made three more WSOP final tables (2005) and has six total World Series cashes, among other achievements.

This year’s festivities open on June 4, 2009 with a “Poker Gives” charity tournament with a $200 + 30 buy-in with $50 rebuys. This will be held at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas. “Poker Gives” was founded by Mike Sexton, Linda Johnson and Lisa Tenner so the poker world could give back to worthwhile charity organizations.

The induction ceremony and celebration will then take place on Friday June 5th at 6 pm local time. Mike Sexton will serve as the emcee. Entry to the event includes dinner/dance, a commemorative gift and nominating rights for the 2010 inductee selections.

Tickets can be secured online at WomeninPokerHallofFame.com.
