The Commerce Casino is hosting the Main Event of the L.A. Poker Classic, which begins today!
This $10,000 buy-in tournament will see yet another World Poker Tour millionaire made – or a former one granted a boost to the ol’ bankroll. This event will be filmed for broadcast on FSN, like all WPT events.
By February 26th there will be a winner, and it could very well be one of these high profile pros, all of whom have committed to playing in the event: Todd Brunson, Erik Seidel, John Juanda, Howard Lederer, Daniel Negreanu, Allen Cunningham, Chris Ferguson, Joe Hachem, Scotty Nguyen and Jennifer Harman.
The L.A. Poker Classic is one of the few World Poker Tour events that have been around for every season, and the WPT is currently running Season Seven. Gus Hansen won the first event in 2003, his second of that season. Following Gus it was Antonio “The Magician” Esfandiari as the champ, with Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi taking down Season Three. The other winners in order were Alan Goehring, Eric Hershler and Phil Ivey.
