The road to the World Series of Poker Main Event has started
Cash, FPP and Steps WSOP satellites are running now at PokerStars, in a range of buy-ins that give all players a shot at qualifying for the ‘Big Dance’, with a prize package worth $12,000.
Make it to Las Vegas and you’ll get to play for millions of dollars in the biggest poker tournament of them all.
Last year, Team PokerStars Pro Peter Eastgate won the Championship title and $9,152,416 in prize money.
The WSOP Main Event is the one that every player wants to win. The event where dreams become a reality, and fortunes can be made on the turn of a card. In addition to Eastgate’s success, there were also huge cash finishes last year for Team PokerStars Pros Ivan Demidov ($5,809,595), Dennis Phillips ($4,517,773) and Ylon Schwartz ($3,774,974), and Friend of PokerStars Darus Suharto ($2,418,562). Win a prize package and you could follow in their footsteps and become the next star of poker.
The Main Event is a tournament rich in history, and over the years it’s been a memorable competition for PokerStars qualifiers and Team PokerStars Pro alike. Pokerstars qualify more players to the Main Event than all other poker sites combined - more than 2,000 in 2008 - and it’s business as usual for 2009. This means that for just a few dollars, you could be on your way to earning a multi-million dollar payday.
The 2009 prize package includes your $10,000 Main Event buy-in, hotel accommodation at The Palms and $1,000 for expenses. This gives you everything you need to live the Las Vegas lifestyle, and prepare in style to play at the most prestigious live event of the year.
To register for a 2009 WSOP satellite, open the PokerStars lobby, click ‘Events’ and ‘WSOP’.
