The inaugural World Team Poker event at the Golden Nugget Casino in Las Vegas was captured by Team China.
Tons of big name pros lined up to play in the team based event, while online fans kept watch via a broadcast with a ten minute delay.
The USA, England, Vietnam, Greece, Brazil, Australia, Israel and China were all represented with their own teams running a double shootout.
This meant that the top two players at each Round One table advanced to the finals.
Despite the qualifying teams could substitute players from that point on, pulling on talent to win the three-game rotation of Limit Hold’em, No Limit Hold’em and Pot Limit Omaha.
The event ran from 1:30PM PT until 8AM with Team Brazil and Team China battling heads-up for the top prize of $300,000. In the end it was Team China (Maria Ho, Johnny Chan, David Chiu, Rich Zhu, Chau Giang, Winifred Yu and Derek Cheung) won the event.
