PKR is putting on its richest online poker festival so far. Beginning on October 17, the site’s second annual Oktoberfest will double the size of last year’s guarantee and boasts a prize pool totaling more than $260,000. PKR.com’s Oktoberfest follows the success of the Super Series, twelve events which took place over as many days that was capped off with the PKR Masters and a ‘Tournament of Champions’, which pit the best players of prior events against each other in a $5,000 tourney for the right to call themselves the ‘champion of champions.’
The Oktoberfest events that are planned are expected to be no less exciting. PKR.com hopes to tailor their tourneys to appeal to just about everyone’s tastes including deep stack and speed events. We hear there are also going to be Bounty and “terminator” tournaments. In addition, PKR.com is offering a bunch of satellites and lotteries to ensure that anyone and everyone who wants to play gets an opportunity to do so.
PKR.com’s Cardroom Manager Neil Wright says, “Last year’s festival was a huge success and this year’s will be bigger and better. We are also looking forward to achieving our biggest prize pool ever in The PKR Masters.”
