PokerStars Pro Vanessa Rousso and the NHL Charity Shootout

TourneyBlog Staff - 19 Jun 2009

One might not imagine PokerStars Pro Vanessa Rousso playing hockey in an ice rink, but that was the way it looked when the Rio’s Amazon poker room seemed to turn into a sports arena.

One table, at least, was decked out to resemble a hockey rink as the players engaged in their favorite card game to raise money for charity.

The NHL Charity Shootout was the game, and the button was a hockey puck – some of the players even wore hockey jerseys (although that in itself is not so unusual.)

Making the final table of the event were two from PokerStars – Rousso, as mentioned, and a qualifier from online, Murray Ungurain. The charity – and the winner of the event – is being kept underwarps, as the event is to be televised at a later date.
