WSOP show ratings heading North

TourneyBlog Staff - 7 Sep 2009

ESPN coverage of the WSOP main event has resulted in a bump in the ratings for the popular program.

With moments like Jason Alexander, famously George Costanza on Seinfeld, and Greg Fossilman Raymer yoking it up at the featured table of the World Series of Poker main event, no wonder the ratings are up.

The episodes are an hour long and give just enough poker coverage mingled with the witty commentary to keep viewers entertained. ESPN means it will be a classy program and well put together, as it always is, and of course having a few stars at the featured tables doesn’t hurt, either (which is exactly why the tables are put together the way they are.)

The start of the season for the WSOP (in terms of when it started to air on TV) was fairly mellow, projecting a weak over all finish, but with the numbers climbing as we approach the pay off, the live finale may be a blockbuster in terms of ratings success!
