No Limit Poker - How To Play
Once you know how to play Limit poker games, then No Limit Poker is easy to learn. The method of play is the same as Limit Poker, until you come to the raises.
The minimum raise is either the size of the previous bet or the previous raise, for example if the previous player bets $10, then the raise must be a minimum of $10.
The maximum allowable raise is the size of the pot. The size of the pot is calculated as the pot plus all the bets on the table for that round plus the amount the player must call for the current bet. This sounds complicated, but usually the poker software automatically calculates this for you, and you are provided with a sliding scale to allow you to bet between the minimum and maximum ranges.
As in Limit Poker there will be side pots, but in No Limit Poker there are more frequent side pots, as the betting is substantially higher.
The minimum buy-in for a No Limit poker table at a site like labdrokes poker is twenty times the higher limit, as opposed to ten times the lower limit on Limit Poker tables.
