PokerStars TV video – How to play fishhooks

TourneyBlog Staff - 16 Jun 2009

They call pocket jacks “Fishhooks” because of the shape of the letter J, but their shortened nickname of “Hooks” can be appropriate for another reason – they can sink their barbs into you and not let go, even when you shouldn’t be playing them.

They are a very tricky hand to play in No Limit Texas Hold’em. A very powerful hand, they become devastatingly seductive every when a player should know that they are beat. They are just really hard to let go. But, don’t take our word on the matter – check out this video from PokerStars TV that shows a compilation of pros playing JJ in some of the biggest games on the planet, and judge for yourself!

Fishooks – a tough hand to love.
