Gus Hansen has truly earned the poker nickname The Great Dane. A multiple World Poker Tour champion and winner of the 2007 Aussie Millions Main Event, the hunky Hansen, who was once named one of People’s 50 Most Beautiful, even has a table named after him at Full Tilt.

On Sunday, November 23rd, Hansen took on Finnish poker player Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies, another of our faves in Pot Limit Omaha at Born (Deep 6). Limits are $200/$400.

Players in hand:

Gus Hansen: [Q,8,6,9]
Ziigmund: [K,6,8,10]
Lo Key U: [Xx,Xx,Xx,Xx]

Pre-flop:

Hansen posts the small blind and Ziigmund posts the big blind. Lo Key U raises to $1,400. Ziigmund re-raises. Hansen calls and we go to the…

Flop: [6,2,3]

Both players bet.

Turn [Q]

Hansen puts Ziigmund all-in for his last $45,000. Hansen has a made hand with two pair. Ziigmund makes the call with just a flush draw.

River: [10]

No flush for Sahamies. Hansen wins $204,191 and finds himself rising up the ranks for the month of November and breaking near even for the year in high stakes games.

Hansen shows us his sense of humor in this Poker After Dark clip:
