Sitting across from Phil Ivey has got to be an amateur’s dearest dream (or worst nightmare). In the 2007 Main Event, Michael Sugg discovered that being bust by the “Tiger Woods of Poker” can even be considered a treat.
Game Type: No Limit Texas Hold’em

Michael Sugg - 10

PreFlop
Phil Ivey - Ivey is a real pro, and so he has a number of different ways to play pocket rockets; he made a small raise. Michael Sugg - This fan of Ivey, who got his autograph earlier, made the call.
The Flop - 2
, Q
, 6
Phil Ivey - Once more Ivey makes a small move, betting about three times the big blind.
Michael Sugg - Happy to have a pocket pair, Sugg makes the call.
The Turn - 7
Phil Ivey - Now that he had made two small casts with his hook he figures he can get this fish and moves all in. Michael Sugg - Amateur that he is, he doesn’t see the trap coming, and makes the call.
The River - 3
That was it - without a ten on the river the amateur was gone, busted by his hero.
Here, one of our favorite players, gets a most blessed hand, quad kings and makes the most out of it:
