O'Donnell & Pelton Tussle at the LOP

Serena DaSilva - 20 Jun 2008

Game Type: No Limit Texas Hold’em
Tournament: World Poker Tour -  Legends of Poker (2006)
Players in hand: Kevin O’Donnell, Joe Pelton

Starting Hands

Kevin O’Donnell - K 9
Joe Pelton - A J

PreFlop

Kevin O’Donnell - final table raise of $130k from the button
Joe Pelton - comes over the top for $400k, suspicious.
Kevin shrugs his shoulders and calls.

The Flop - 7 A 7

Joe Pelton - Likely would have made a continuation bet anyway. Joe makes it $300k.

Kevin O’Donnell - this restaurant owner burned through chips a lot in just this manner. Having gambled preflop it didn’t matter if Joe had made his hand or not. Kevin folded.

This was the trend at the final table of the Legends of Poker; raise it up till a fold, no showdowns unless all in pre flop.
