Tourneyblog Heroes: J C Tran

Serena DaSilva - 3 Jan 2008
JC Tran is no stranger to tournament success. A fixture on the WPT, the Vietnamese native won the 2006 World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) at PokerStars, taking down one of the biggest online paydays to date. In 2007, he started off super strong by making three consecutive World Poker Tour final tables. Tran finished sixth in Tunica, took the runner-up slot at the LA Poker Classic and won the World Poker Challenge in Reno.

This summer Tran cashed in four World Series of Poker events including the Main Event. He finished the year strong, again on the WPT. At the Five Diamond World Poker Classic in December, Tran made back to back final tables in the last couple of preliminary events. He took down Event #11, a $5,000 buy-in NLHE contest, defeating Godsmack’s Sully Erna in a brutal heads-up match, adding another half a million to his considerable tournament earnings.
