Tourneyblog Heroes: Phil Hellmuth

Deanna Goodson - 3 Jan 2008
Phil Hellmuth wins his 11th bracelet. Hellmuth is a poker legend. The Poker Brat can truly back up his trash talk with serious skill. This summer, Hellmuth passed Johnny Chan and Doyle Brunson for most WSOP bracelets earned in one career. He finished first in event #15 at the 2007 World Series of Poker on June 11. The $1,500 buy-in NLHE tournament defeated Andy Philachack for the title in a great heads-up contest which gave Hellmuth the edge from the get-go.

Interestingly enough, Hellmuth has all of his bracelets in Texas Hold’em, proving his dominance in the game. The Madison Kid has a total of 63 cashes – six of which he earned this summer alone – and has made a total of 39 final tables in the tournament series, tying TJ Cloutier.

Congrats, Phil for a fantastic 2007!
