Deanna Goodson - 24 Mar 2009

The Asian Poker Tour (APT) Macau tournament, will take place at the Galaxy StarWorld Hotel and Casino from Aug 12 – 23, 2009. The APT has announced that it decided to extend the event to twelve days and plans, according to tour boss Chris Parker, to “feature a side event never seen in Asia before, including several new formats that will stir the curiosity of poker enthusiasts at all levels.”

The $4,300 Main Event has been stretched to August 19 – 23 and will now include a televised final table. This is all in the hopes, as Chris Parker opines, to “establish Macau as an essential stop on the international poker circuit.”

Yevgeniy Timoshenko is the reigning APT Macau Main Event champion. He won the tournament last year and took home $500,000.
