Former World Series of Poker champion Dan “Action Dan” Harrington, who has found great success as a poker author with his “Harrington on Hold’em” series, is the third former WSOP Main Event winner to sign on to play the 2009 Irish Poker Open. Both Jamie Gold and Noel Furlong have already registered for the event, which will be held on Easter weekend at the CityWest Hotel in Dublin.

Action Dan last played in the IPO back in 2007. He has an impressive resume. In addition to his WSOP title, he has a World Poker Tour title. This makes Harrington just one of five men to hold both championships. Mr. Harrington, a successful businessman and investor, has live tournament winnings of more than $6.5 million. He is a fantastic addition to the IPO.
